2022-2032 Strategic Plan

In accordance with UVA Health's mission, vision, and values, and with input from the community and employees, UVA Health developed a strategic plan to highlight the importance of providing the best care with top-of-the-line technology. As Craig Kent, MD, CEO of UVA Health, writes in the introduction:

"Patients in 2032 will be treated with an entirely new compendium of therapies, researchers will leverage new techniques for discovery, education and training paradigms will change significantly, and care delivery models will be enhanced through patient-centered technology, with a focus on prevention and care at home. As an academic health system, our vision is that UVA Health will be at the forefront leading this change."

 UPG is an independent 501(c)(3) University Associated Organization (UAO), and is governed by its own Board of Directors with a public majority. As a separate employer, UPG offers a separate benefits package from UVA and the Medical Center and maintains separate benefit and leave policies.

 UVA Health’s community hospitals and many provider offices and outpatient clinics are located in the areas surrounding Culpeper, Fauquier and Prince William counties. New hires for these locations are hired by the UVA Health subsidiary UVA Community Health, a non-profit 501(c)(3) that is not state-funded.
