UVA Health Tier One Program for Registered Nurses (RNs)

Earn $10 more per hour for all hours, including PTO hours

Program Details:

The Department-Based Tier One Program is a commitment to work 72 hours per pay period, with a minimum of 48 hours on night shift, flexing remaining hours to meet unit needs and scheduled a maximum of every other weekend. Shift scheduling is outlined in the scheduline requirements sections. Where necessary, holiday requirements supercede the Department-Based Tier One Program.

Eligible Job Profiles:

Department Based Clinical Ladder RNs may be eligible.

Department-Based Tier One Shift Schedules

Full Time Schedule
72 hours per pay period, minimum 48 hours on night shift. Flexing remaining hours to meet unit needs.
 


Scheduling Process
Third priority on unit. No self-scheduling.
Weekend Commitment
Maximum of every other weekend, based on unit needs
Holiday Commitment
Holiday rotation based on Unit needs.

Floating - team member floats as needed to meet organization's needs.


Status, Pay, and Benefits

Classification:
  • Team members in the Department-Based Tier One Program follow the same criteria as core team members for determination of base salary rate and salary range.
  • Eligibility for benefits is the same as full-time team members.

Premium Pay:
  • Department-Based Tier One Program memberes are eligible for shift, weekend differential and holiday premium pay as defined by UVA Health University Medical Center policy: $10 per hour received in addition to all paid hours, including PTO.

Commitment:
  • The Department-Based Tier One Program is a commitment to work 72 hours per pay period, with a minimum of 48 hours on night shift, flexing remaining hours to meet unit needs and scheduled a maximum of every other weekend.  Shift scheduling is outlined in the scheduling requirements sections.  Where necessary, holiday requirements supercede the Department-Based Tier One Program. 

Leaves - Scheduled and/or Unplanned:
  • Substitutions or trading of shifts requires advance approval and is at the manager's discresion. The 48 hours on night shift must still be maintained.

Holiday Coverage:
  • Holiday requirements supercede the Department-Based Tier One Program requirements where a manager determines holiday coverage is needed to me the needs of the unit. There may be occasions where a manager requires a Department-Based Tier One Program team member to work holidays outside the program.
